How can I install XP over Vista? I would rather use XP.

I have tried but, as Vista is newer than XP the normal install did not work.

You can not install Windows XP over Vistas. You must wipe the partition and install XP clean. Back up your data and be prepared to reinstall all programs.

You boot from the XP install disk and Format the drive from the instructions there.

Can't install XP without a Floppy Disk Drive or Slip Streamed CD with Chipset Driver included.

Am assuming your computer has Sata Port Hard Drive Connection.

XP can be installed if only you have another clean partition.
Once installed , you will have to correct the boot so it can see the Vista and XP.

How much free space do you have on your C drive.

My suggestion -

Shrink the c drive
Install XP to the new partition
Delete the vista partition when booted into XP
edit the boot menu
