Does anyone know of any composing software that realistically emulates a real orchestra (or whatever combination of instruments) given a composition?
(Assuming it is written in the software, the composition)

I've used Finale 2009, but the instrumentation sounds very choppy and unrealistic.

Hi!

I know absolutely nothing about finale, but can it use VSTs? If so you could get Eastwests symphonic orchestra and plug it into finale, but it's a bit on the expensive side, and it can be very time consuming loading all the samples you need. I use symphonic orchestra gold with Sonar 8. Cubase may be better for notation though.

If you just want another notation software, the only other one I can think of is Sibelius which I use sometimes. But really, I think these types of software are only for writting, not for sounds, and is the reason I use SO with Sonar.
