Remote Assistance w/IM & Vista

I use remote assistance via IM to get help on various programs. I have a new Dell Laptop with Vista Home Premium and we cannot seem to
get it working. I turned off firewalls and intrusion protection
temporarily and it still wouldn't work. I surfed through the sites trying to find someone else who had a problem or some direction
(unfortunately, I m only semi-computer literate), but going from XP,
thought perhaps it was Vista - related. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. It was mentioned it could be our router is not permitting it, so I will check that out in the meanwhile.

If you look in the remote assistance tab under system properties, there's a checkbox to make sure that it's enabled. If you look under the advanced button, there's another checkbox that only allows remote assistance from vista computers... that might be the culprit.
