Which is better, Registry Mechanic or Registry Booster? I use Vista Home premium.

Both are terrible. If you want to bring your system to a screaching halt, use any.

Registry Mechanic is OK. For the last 2 years they have given it away free in November. Must remember to look. Don't touch any of the others apart from CCleaner.

@ LH - added it to favs ;)
@ Absurd - I don't use regcleaners much. Only when I have a problem and other solutions haven't worked I give RegMech a try. Most often regcleaners muck up more then the good they do. They all are a disaster for the setting in Paintshop Pro for reasons I can't quite grasp, so I always have to make sure these are added to the exclusionlist.

To anyone contemplating using any registry cleaner.

Use this first to back up your registry. Do not install it on the system partition,

Also create a Windows Restore point.

i recommend uniblue registry booster. Its a paid software but the best one in category. It has also been awarded.
