My registry files are being run as notepad files by default.I need help on how to revert their running back to default(not as notepad files)

Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program
Scroll down to .reg, and change it's "opening" program to Registry editor

I have tried reverting to regedit but the problem is that on the dialog 'open with...'regedit doesnt appear.I have searched regedit also on my system but to no avail.Is there any other method as to which i can revert the opening of registry files back to default?

Look for
C:\Windows\Regedit.exe
