Is there anything that i will need to remember to do before i do this other than copying all my important files and having my drivers already downloaded?

Jack, why do you want to "reformatt and install today"?
is there a virus problem? or you simply wanna change your O/S?

well i haven't done one in a while so i am doing one today. and my system is starting to get a bit bogged down so when that happens i do a refomat and install

So you should better create an image first, before formatting. Then apply the image after the fresh install. In this way you wont need to install the basic softwares(MS office, Adobe reader, etc) again...

@jack,
I use old version of Ghost and make an Archive on another HD AFTER a perfect installation, configuration and updates are installed.

After PERFECT O/S installation, then I add other software and make another Ghost Archive.
---
Tis up to you to pick your Archive points.

ya but what is a free program to create images? I have no money to buy programs right now

EDIT: I Do ALL HD Prep Using Low Level DOS Boot PE CDs and Boot Floppies. (Old School) (LOL)
