refill ink for cannon printer

I needed a new printer so recently purchased a new Cannon all-in-one type printer. I believe a 530c (not sure at moment). I chose the cannon due to the fact that my previous cannon I was able to refill my ink cartridges and save lots of money. My new cannon had very similar cartridges (opaque) allowing easy refill. WRONG!! I was able a refill the cartridges BUT the printer would not recognize the fact that the cartidges hab been refilled. Now the icon for empty cartriges pops up on my screen and the printer will not work even though I have refilled all the cartridges that were empty. Is ther any way to fool the printer into using the refilled cartridges? Thanks for any help given Stan

You have to reset the chip in the cartridge. There are tools to do that. They usually come with the corresponding refill kits.

Welcome jafar. I know with Epsons, it is necessary to download a reset program for the cartridges. Have a look on Cannons site, and see if they mention it.
