Hello,

I'm using a site called soundclick to add mp3 files to...their max size mp3 is 10mb.

I'm looking for a safe way to reduce the size of my mp3 files to unde 10mb.

Can anyone help me.

Thanks.

what are you trying to upload - symphonies? A normal .mp3 song is 1 to 2 MBs. There are a few .mp3 resizers on the web, but I have no idea how good they are. You could also try to reregister them with a lower bitrate - e.g. 64KB.

Hello whs,

I have a website for a local Community Concert band. I put the selections for our next concert on the site so
the band members can have a sorta play along thing with their music.

Some of the songs (mp3s) as stated above are larger...some by a lot some only slightly than the 10mb
allowed by Soundclick..which is a music sharing site that I have on my website.

I solved my problem by spliting up the songs that were bigger than 10mb...but this isn't the most efficient
method as the band people have to stop and start to get to the end of the song.

I see a lot of sites that will reduce the mp3..but which do I trust.

Thanks for your input.

I think you can use FormatFactory to get the mp3 files to the size you want, though it may take some playing around with it till you have the settings that please you.
You can convert almost any sound file to mp3 with it ánd you can set the settings as to how the quality of the mp3 file is.

Hope this helps ;)
Sarah.

Yeah, as I said, if you want to make it smaller, you have to reduce the bitrate. If you don't go too low, you won't notice the difference.

Hello Sarah James,

Thanks for the help...had 4 tunes that I reduced to fit the Soundclick max of 10mb..they sound fine.

I had used a band-aid first...I broke songs into parts to make it work...Format Factory solved the problem.

I think that it is great that there are wonderful people such as yourself available to help others.

Sincerely,

Ray
