Is there any way to copy the recovery partition, that comes with most new computers, to a cd or other media, and use it to restore a new hard drive operating system, when the original hard drive dies?

Better idea, make a disk image of all partions using Macrium Reflect so you can quickly restore to your current configuration at any time.

Thanx for the reply and tip about Macrium Reflex. I'm always looking for new software that is recommended by guys.
I really need to just copy the recovery partlition though. I run a charity and build and give away over 100 PC's a year.
If I could just restore the basic setting when people mess them up it would save lots of time.
The softwares I have tried take forever. Ghost is the fastest so far but gives me more than I need.
Once again, thanks for the reply.
