Hey guys,

I want to break my 320 GB hard drive into two parts: one would hold my copy of Windows Vista Home Premium, along with my programs; the other, larger one, would hold my personal files.

I notice that, Under "Computer Management -> Disk Management", there is a little partition manager in Windows Vista. However, even after disabling System Restore (to eliminate shadow copies) and then defragmenting the hard drive, I only have a maximum shrink space of around 1000 megs on my C drive (about 1 gig - not even enough space to make into another partition). But in reality I have 147 GB free on my hard drive! What can I do?

This is a problem. Do you have much personal data and downloaded programs on your C: drive?

You may want to put "Partition" into both 'Search Articles' and 'Search Forum' above. There is a lot of useful info on the subject.
