Having gone through some issues i have narrowed it down to this.
i have two sticks of 2gb ram and when i tested them with memtest i got errors as shown by redscreen and number of errors coming up.
i then tested each stick on it own but no errors came up !!!!
i then tested each stick in each mermory slot on the Mobo and got no errors ?
once i put the 2 sticks back in i goot errors when i ran memtest ????
any ideas ?
mermory was ok till i tried to upgrade to win 7, doubt if that was any issue

Have you ran a antimalware scan. If not scan with this (it's free) http://www.filehippo.com/downl.....i_malware/
Just a bit confused. Memtest is a standalone program and does not require an operating system for execution although memory error diagnosed by Memtest is carried out and manifested in the Operating System. I think the main concern first would be the strange error when both sticks, which are tested good individually would produce errors when tested in pair.
Bailey, are the two sticks the same - manufacturer, speed, etc.?
yes the sticks are the same and have worked fine until i tried to upgrage to 7, back on xp now, running deep malware scan now, it is a self build system but has never giving trouble till i tried to upgrade.
am going to work on it for the rest of the night so any input would help greatly

PS, unless they have been relabeled. but have worked fine till now ?
