i have question regarding this URL -- http://www.howtogeek.com/howto.....oure-away/

does it work w/ windows vista? because "On resume, display logon screen" is grayed out when i select "(None)" as my screensaver...

Try checking the box when on another entry. Then select none. The article was based on Windows 7 which does work as the article described. Vista is different.

Why not use the Windows and L keys to lock the PC before you move away from it, it only takes 2 seconds to do. PC must be password protected though.

You can create a DESKTOP icon with the command SHUTDOWN.EXE /L and it will lock the screen and take you to the UserID prompt (you should have a p/w on your UserID as well for security) and you click on it when you leave. Basically the same as Gedstar gave as a solution.

EDIT: You will lose everything 'in progress' with these solutions. Having it go to sleep might be a better solution.
