On 12/11/2012 I read on How-to geek an article called "Print only selected text from web pages". I have tried this advice a number of times, but I cannot get it to work the way it is described in the article. When I try this method of printing I either get nothing printed or an unedited version. I have followed the instructions to the letter. I have Windows 7 Ultimate and am using a MP280 Canon printer. How come I can't get it to print only what I want. I do tons of printing and this would save me a lot on ink. Thanks for any advice!

or, well you get the point. i mean so we're supposed to just guess what this person is talking about, right.
@vistual, yes you were aright we are not suppose to guess but I was assuming the OP was intelligent enough to put in quotes the title of the article. Maybe he/she does not know how to place a link in post , I do not know. That why I said "might" as that article and his post were the most relevant when you search "Print only selected text from web pages"" with the quotes in HTG. There was no mention of Excel, or spreadsheet or using third party extensions.
Likewise, I was also assuming the OP read the '07 article on 2012 which is not impossible since HTG archived articles even earlier than that date is accessible to people/members who visit the site and want to be informed or get help.
I suggested the link as part of the discussion so as if I was wrong, the OP can point to the right article and go on if he/she replies. But as I have said they are all my assumptions, if they are wrong... I apologize. Just explaining my previous post.
"The usual first post customer - hit and run. It is not worth to invest time on those unless they stick around. I like LH's approach where he asks a 3 word question just to make sure the OP is serious.

As a very, very, casual user of Excel and a first post here, I doubt that there would be anything I could contribute to Excel conversations, but I find the words 'The usual first post customer - hit and run' hurtful.
Maybe the intent was not to be hurtful.

Also, I get 'Excel finds nothing to print', after going through the steps shown in the links above, and doing other chic 'mark/unmark' things to see a preview of 'only 'what is to be printed. My preview of PRINT shows all the rows even those not wanted in the actual Print.
Using:
Excel 2007
Win XP Pro
Seems I'm missing a chic mark somewhere, to enable the Print function, yet unable to find where that pesky location is.
Yes, am able to highlight rows I want to print.
Yes, am able to select Print area.
Yes, am able to see Print Preview, but showing all rows, not only selected.
Yes, will Print out, but prints out all the rows, including selected.
Yes, am going boinkers on this quest.
Assist appreciated.
Hi Guilty Sparks and whs,,
Thanky for the welcome.
Will spare you all the long side of why I'm called the Talker.
Funny how regardless of the number of books one accumultes, there still comes 'situations' that gets one on the knuckle crunching side of getting a thing done.
Ah, will just keep on eliminating things until my'ahaaa' shows up.
Have a good day and
Be Well
