Prevent Vista User Interface from switching to Basic Mode
(4 posts)I don't know if that's possible.. it changes the interface for a reason. I do know that for iTunes, the problem lies in Quicktime. They may have fixed it with an iTunes update, but if it still doesn't work for you, go to the Quicktime options in the control panel, click the Advanced tab and change your video settings.
I just did a Google search for "Why do some applications turn aero off" and found the following http://blogs.msdn.com/kamvedbr.....66788.aspx.
That page says why it happens and how to work around the problem with iTunes/Quicktime.

Thank you for your help, it was very useful.
Actually I wanted Vista to keep Media Player Classic interface transparent during
video playback.
The DirectShow video output had to be set to "system default" instead of Overlay Mixer
(default setting for the player)and it resolves this issue.
:) :) :)
