hello all,

I found a sudden problem with my OS in laptop early morning being absolutely fine last night. Its not booting up and got freezed saying Preparing Automatic Repair. After few minutes its going to some black screen with just a mouse pointer seen. I tried using Shift F8 while booting but no use. Could not go to safe mode also. Also tried installing new OS(windows 7) but its freezing at "Starting Windows" screen for hours. Also tried installing Linux but its showing some CD-ROM problem

Please help me sort out this problem. Thanx in advance.

You could check the BIOS and see if there is Hard Drive diagnostics and run that! As raphoenix more info would be helpful.
Most new Laptops and PC's have BIOS hardware testing utilities.
