I will soon be buying a MacBook Pro Lion and i want to use boot-camp, is there a way to use the pre installed copy of windows 7 on my current laptop to run boot-camp? Please Note i have the serial number for the OS
Current Specs;
Samsung R519
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
HDD - Seagate Momentous 5400.2 250GB
RAM - 4GB Samsung - 2x2
Processor - Pentium (R) Dual-Core CPU T4200 @ 2.00GHz 2.00GHz

Sadly, that is probably not possible :(
To others: Please correct me if I'm wrong!
Did you install 7 on the laptop yourself, or did it come preinstalled?
If it came preinstalled, then I'm 99% sure it's an OEM copy. This means that it is tied to that computer and cannot be transferred.
Also, if you did transfer then you would have to remove windows from the laptop, or at least unactivate it (possible?)

It came pre installed by Samsung, and i suppose i would prefer just to buy something like XP to put on the MacBook;

Also i think it is an OEM pre installed as my product key goes like; *****-OEM-*******-*****.
Would that OEM (in the amazon link above) work for boot camp.
i had an idea, where in windows 7 you can create a system repair disk in control panel could you use that to install boot camp

Buying an OEM version would work, and would then get tied to that individual computer.
Windows 7 is really the way to go nowadays - not XP. 64 bit would be best.
