I'm shopping once more.Replaced a cheap cpu fan with a Zalman, and this unit does what they say.I overlooked thinking it was a noisy cpu fan.The 500 Watt Xion psu that came with my case could wake up the dead.Any thoughts on an affordable 600W+ PSU? I'm running a 400W HIPRO PSU in my Compaq machine, which is very quiet, wish they had more selection.By the way,the mobo is an Asus M2A-VM-HDMI.Thanks in advance.

(7 posts)I'm shopping too, so I'm interested in your situation. What kind of case do you have -- anything we might have heard of? I can't recommend a good PSU (yet) but to reduce noise I like the idea of a 120mm intake fan that I've seen on a few models.
Why do you need 600+ Watts? Quad SLI? Inquiring minds want to know!
I like the concept of less cable clutter,Ultra eh?Any particular model? I'm looking for a high watt, quiet and dependable psu that will last for a couple of years. The case I bought is a Xion that came with 3 cooling fans,2 with led lights.I recently bought an Ati graphic card which supports Crossfire,I guess I'll need another similiar card for that to work,I'm some what new at this stuff. The cpu is an Amd dual core and the mobo still has 2 open ram slots.I figure the more power the merrier.I have two young nephews who appear to be gamers and that's why the need for at least 550 watt power.I hope all this upgrading is compatable with Vista Premium,I'm still fairly new at that OS.Anyway,do appreciate any input.
