Pop-up Calendar in Excel 2010

I am trying to have a calendar pop up in excel 2010 whenever I choose a cell in a particular column. when that calendar pops up, i want to be able to choose a date and have that date enter into the selected cell. When I am not choosing a date, I don't want the calendar visible.
