anyone pls help me with this

i had an external usb hard disk but had some problem with it
and now the system is not recognizing it
as soon as i plug it to the system it shows a msg of unknown device
it has a lot of important information in it
someone please help me
i have to get the entire stuff of the usb hard disk back

You need to get drivers for it. What make / model is it?

it is usb2.0

USB 2.0 is the connection type.
The make and model is something like Western Digital Passport 120GB.
Also what OS are you running?

yea jd2066 is right. USB 2.0 is the connection like the monitor connection. The make is something like Maxtor One Toutch 3 or something like that. All you need to do is look on the side of the device and it should have the make on there then just download a driver (google is your freind here) and you should be done.
