playing same item on extended desktop

hi

sorry if this has been asked but how does one get movies to play one both screens when in extended desktop ie want to show a movie on the tv/projector(extended desktop) but still want control on the primary screen

how does one do it on vista and xp

so you want the movie on one screen then the other desktop to be free or the same movie on both screens (stretched)? do you have it set up as dual monitors or just a mirror image on both? if it is dual then you could just drag it over to the other side but if not i don't think that you can.

have not tryed stretched

clicking and drag will do it but its not i had in mind

i use the extender desktop on my laptop and i want to show and control on the laptop and just show one the extended display

it is possible cause i have done it but can't do again

ok so now i think that i got it. just to clairify you want the video on one screen (full screen) then the other to control it (play, pause, ect.).

I don't know how to do what you are asking for, but I find myself using keyboard shortcuts when playing videos fullscreen. Also, with a remote you can control video playback from across the room.

umm window media player and power dvd

using power dvd couldn't you just drag the control over to the other monitor then then control it from there or does this not work. i haven't really had dual monitors before so it is hard to test things out. and in media player what version do you have?

power dvd you can but then u can't watch it so u know when to stop if u don't know the time code

i was doing it media player 10 but now using 11

hi

thanks for the help

on ten i went into the advance settings and put some ticks in there but now i can't remember what i clicked

i am also using a klite codec pack which i was not using before

i just don't know

well from what i have read it doesn't really seem like any one has really tried this or they have had no problems

have you tried posting on one of the microsoft forums? they might be better at helps with this there or if it is possible in 11
