Pidgin and Dropbox with Symbolic Links

Hi, I was trying to follow this guide:

I got to the first part, where my netbook (windows 7) has the pidgin logs synched with dropbox now, but the problem is I can't get my desktop pidgin to use those logs and settings. I am able to read the logs on my desktop, but the symbolic link doesn't work.

Windows keeps saying how it can't create a link when a file exists at that location, I have tried reversing and tweaking it, but it doesnt seem to work

C:\Users\BLANK\Dropbox\.purple

C:\Users\BLANK\AppData\Roaming\.purple

are the two paths I have been using. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Did you actually cut/delete the original .purple before doing the mklink?

I cut the first one which worked fine and deleted the second one (on the computer I cant mklink)
