Picture retrival...
(15 posts)Hi Jaw69,
Do you mean for jpg, gif, png, bmp etc. or only for one type?
Did you maybe recently install a program for photoediting?
And if you could post a screenshot, that would be helpful too:)
I suspect the settings for 'image' in the registry got messed up, but need to know more:)
Cheers,
Sarah.
Well Sarah,
It seems like "any" picture I right-click on, I'm not able(any more..) to get and put ,either on my desktop or in my pictures folder. NO options are there...really wierd.. IF--you could possile help..I'd really appreciate it.
The reason I'm giving this to you is because, I just happen to be going through my "favorities"..found this--saw your "response".. If I hadn't of done this, I would never of known--you even responded?!
Sincerely,
Ole' Joe
P.S.: No I haven't installed any Photo/type programs....

Hi Jaw69,
Just noticed - you use Windows 7?
I have Vista, no Windows 7.
Don't know if the registry values will be the same then.
I'll look up 'image' in the registry on my machine and post back.
Edit: because jpg, gif, bmp etc. have the value 'perceivedType: image' so I take it there is something wrong with this value.
Anybody who has a different idea - please jump in ;)

This is all I could find so far (there are hundreds of keys with image in the name!) which might be relevant.
I suspect there is something wrong with these values in your registry, but since you use Windows 7 it might be possible these values ought to be different, so that is not getting us very far :(
Is there someone using Windows 7 who can check this?
@ Jaws69 I once discovered that cleaning out the 'internet history' files on my computer did the trick. Before cleaning those files I could only save pictures as bmp. No other options. After cleaning I could save pics again as jpg etc.
Just my 10 cents worth ....
Don't know if this is the answer to your problem ....
