Paypal problem

I have been trying to open an account with Paypal, but it will not accept my (perfectly legitimate) bank details. Anyone else had this? and how does one get over it?

We established a Paypal account a while ago but we used a credit card in lieu of an accout. I vaguely remember that there was some sort of verification process when using a bank account. Maybe you can watch out for that.

Are you using www.paypal.com or a localized site like www.paypal.fr?
Also what are the errors you get entering a bank account?

It doesn't accept any of what I input!

I have a problem with Paypal as well. Other sites require me to input a credit card number in order to use Paypal, but a friend of mine told me I shouldn't need to. Also, when I don't have money deposited to my Paypal account, it requires me to use my credit card. That friend of mine says he never has money on his Paypal account. I set the paying option to use my bank account as default, but it seems as if it's not working.
