I have a brand new Toshiba Satelite Laptop with 200 Gig HD and Vista installed. Have encountered the HD shrink problem with Vista and may have screwed some things up. Right now Vista is in a 110 Gig partition and Ubuntu is in a 60 Gig partition. I would like to start from scratch (format HD, etc) and create 3 primary partitions 45 Gig each for XP, Vista and Lynux with an extended 45 gig partition for applications, data, etc. Please help!

If you have an actual XP and Vista install CD/DVD as well as a Linux one, this is easy. This is how I would do it:

Insert Linux. Install Linux. Use that parttion manager to partition your hard drive.

Install Windows XP one partition

Install Vista on another.

Use something like BootMagic
