after installing windows 7 my pc is overheating very quickly but when I reinstalled XP it works fine, I have installed all the updated drivers but still have the same issue, any suggestions???

You might want to see if there is a BIOS update available from your PC manufacturer's website.

What is your definition of OVERHEATING and how do you know it is? Get a window pop-up telling you this? Is it a specific device, like a video card or CPU? Or does the system just turn-off with little warning?

HP's did/do have this problem I think if you do not UPDATE the BIOS and W7 drivers they have posted on HP's site?
