Overclocking...steps?
(5 posts)Brazilianboiii,

The HUGE Problem you speak of is that if the O/C gets too "out of whack", the machine just won't run.
---
You then would have to set everything back to normal default clocks and start over again.
---
Unless you have a "Super Duper Unlocked CPU" and water cooling, you are wasting your time in my opinion as a normal machine will not pass tests such as Prime95 and others when heavily O/Ced therefore defeating the purpose of O/Cing.
---
A small amount of O/C and Over-volt is Fine but if you expect to see dramatic results, my best advice is to start reading manufacturer's White Papers on Hardware Design Criteria and Invest in Better Hardware.

hum.. Yeah my PC isn't a GREAT machine, but i was just planning on tweaking it up just a tiny bit.
Friend of mines is Liquid cooling his, and it's a beast machine.
So you think it's not much use Overclocking now?
But just for future reference.. to overclock i would have to go to the BIOS screen..correct?
from there....(what next)

The Bios is where the setting may be changed in some cases.
---
If you do not have a Builder Machine, the Bios Settings will not let you O/C.
---
There are programs on the net that will allow you to software O/C your video card.
---
Recommend you NOT NOT try to use them.
---
Suggest you save your money and Build you a fast machine.
---
Computers are like cars and airplanes, there will always be someone who has a better and faster one than you do. :) :)
