outlook.pst file size became zero after repair - request urgent help

Dear All,

I am using outlook 2007. Yesterday, It is found that both outlook.pst(around 1.0 GB) and archive.pst (around 9 GB) are corrupt. Hence, I started scanpst.exe to repair outlook.pst file first and it got repaired successfully (unfortunately I did not take the backup before repair). It started working fine.

Now, after some time I thought of repairing the archive.pst file. Suddenly I realized that the size of my outlook.pst (which was repaired earlier) has become 0 KB and outlook is no longer recognizing it.

Members are requested to please suggest the possible reason for this mishap. Also, please let me know the recovery process (if there are any).

are you sure it is the same file? haven't you made a backup of it before trying to repair it?
try to search for PST file in your computer , perhaps there is a temporary copy somewhere

System was thoroughly searched for any pst files. Nothing found.
Is it because of running scanpst.exe which might corrupted the file and further erased it ??

no , usually scanpst try to repair the file and delete it or erase it whatever is it status. could you check your antivirus quanrantine , the file might be there in case it is infected.

Try Recuva.. A long shot but worth a try. The new version can recover deleted file more than 4gig in size.
