OS install
(4 posts)Hello Mike.
I did not re-istall my software on a Dell machine, I put it on a PowerSpec machine I purchased several years ago.
I get the message that say' "THIS IS NOT A DELL MACHINE. OBTAIN SOFTWARE FROM YOUR COMPUTERS MANUFACTURER".
The software installs fine but will not boot. Is there a command line switch I can use to force it to boot?
I really don't want any Of Dell's products but I would like to be able to use the operating system I paid for.
Is it possible to help?
Oh right, well this is kind of hard. The system uses what is known as DMI (Desktop Management Interface), which is part of the System BIOS, to SLP your copy of Windows ME. This means that you cannot use the operating system CD from Dell on another type of machine.
