I have reformatted my hard drive and now I cannot find my ethernet drivers to connect to internet in windows. I can get online using a rescue disk that is in linux. I want to download the missing drivers using linux but I cannot find out how to open the downloads

If you know from where to get it, try a browser - Firefox or Chromium.
