no internet connection!!!

well i do have internet it works but the problem is only in one room when i transfer the modem in to my room it does not connect to the internet i have every thing hook up right.i just dont know whats happening please help me with my problem.like the modem light has to turn solid but it never does!!!.

What type of internet connection(s) are we talking about here, dial-up, dsl, cable, other? What are the set-ups in room one, room two etc.

I would have the telephone company check that. There is some weird wiring.

well its verizon dsl ive check that it works with a phone. the phone jack that does work has a new one all the others are old.

What sometimes happens is that the wires are switched. You better have someone check that. The old ones may not be set up for the internet.

Do you have filters (taps) on every telephony device except the DSL modem one? I don't know if things have changed, but I have always had to have taps on every telephone, modem, fax, etc. in order to use DSL.

The filters help to suppress noise on the phone from the DSL. They should not have a functional impact on the DSL. Besides, today they often install a central filter at the point where the phone line comes into the house - then there is no need for the little line filters. I think in his case it is a simple wiring problem.

i have a problem in broadband as soon as i swich it on my computer detects the network but it shows a x sign infront of network
(windows vista) and it does not connect to the network ............................
