Computer: 2011 Apple iMac. The upgrade went without a hitch, ISO to DVD and install, easy peasy. However, no audio. When playing an mp3 file or dvd I can see the little music bar moving up and down in the audio mixer but get no sound at all. Tried an MS update but no joy. All cables are securely external speaker system worked perfectly on Win 7 that Win 8 replaced. I'm thinking it needs a different audio driver and if so would that have to come from Microsoft via an update or the manufacturer of the audio card? And if that is the case, how do I find out who made the audio card?
Is there software available to scan the computer and see what card it has? I'm not a geek and know just enough to get me in trouble. Thanks for any help offered.

Actually not sure if this should be in W8 or Apple forum.
