Hello everyone.

I have just about tryed everything and still no sound?? Let me take you back to the beginning...

About 2 months ago my factory installed windows vista crashed! So, I went to my back up disks and ran them. Well there are three back up disks and the first one worked ok but when i put the secound disk in a window came up saying contact HP!

Well to make a long story longer! That was a waist of time.... See my HP laptop is only 16 months old and of course the warranty is only good for a year! So..... being fed up with vista i downgraded to xp.... ( i really don't think that i downgrated!. I love my xp pro!!)

But now my audio does not work. when i go to my device manager there is a yellow !EXCLAMATION point on O.H.C.I. compliant IEEE 1394 host controler!! and also a yellow question mark on....OTHER DEVICES WHICH INCLUDES VIDEO CONTROLLER VGA!

I was wondering if anyone out there can help me fix this problem??? I am now livin in Thailand.... So, i cant go to the local Best Buy Geek squad! Please beleive me I HAVE TRYED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING!!! I love my XP PRO and i would hate to go back to vista...(because it sucks....just my opinion)

I did try to download the drivers from hp support site... but they don't list a driver for this laptop running xp! My laptop is a hp. pavilion dv6700.
Please help PLEASE!!

Thank you

FRUSTRATED IN THAILAND!

Hi MRCOCONUT, have a look here for your Realtek audio driver. I´ll have a look for your video driver and post back in a bit. Matt

EDIT: For the OHCI problem you are having, download this. And these are your video drivers!!
