I received the following in a security watch news letter.

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message
with an attachment entitled "POSTCARD," regardless of who sent it to
you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the
whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from
someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is
the reason why you need *to send this e-mail to all your contacts It
is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and
open it.

If you receive a mail called" POSTCARD," even though sent to you by a
friend, do not open it! Delete the message immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by
Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered
by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus.
This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the
vital information is kept.

I recommend that if you have access to web mail, check your mail on webmail first and if the message is there delete it while it is on the server, therefore you won'r download it to your computer.
i found this on the at&t.net computer message board.

Thanks for the heads-up mpc, there is some confusion as to it's legitimacy.

This particular "classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever" hoax has been around since at least 2002 - http://www.snopes.com/computer.....alcard.asp

I second mpc, It's better to be safe than sorry. Some extra attention cannot hurt.

As a rule of thumb, any email that comes my way saying, "Send this to everybody you know" gets forwarded to exactly zero people. We can see identical phrases in the OP's email, dated 3-18, and the email reprinted on the Snopes page in 2000 and 2002.

In 2000, the most destructive virus ever had been discovered "yesterday". In 2002, the virus had been discovered "yesterday". And in the OP here, the virus was discovered - who'd have thunk - just yesterday.

August 2007 - the most destructive virus ever was discovered "yesterday" - http://www.care2.com/news/member/354979038/459578
February 2006 - the most destructive virus ever was discovered "yesterday" - http://www.hoax-slayer.com/oly.....-hoax.html
July 2001 - the most destructive virus ever was discovered "yesterday" - http://www.xanga.com/Jhez/273281/item.html
