The "standard" settings for setting up the Win 7 computer are at http://www.howtogeek.com/howto.....-7-and-xp/ but the XP settings on this link did not work for me. I found some that did:

Open Start/Settings/Printer and Faxes and you should get something like

Click on Add New Printer and Next

Start the installation

Follow the red boxes on all of the following images and you will see that the printer must be installed as a pseudo-local printer and not as a network printer:

and that should get it working
