Okay here's the story. After removing Ubuntu from my xp it won't boot normally anymore! I tried out the installer from Wubi installer to install it.It appeared pretty simple, but after the installation was complete and having the choice to boot to windows or Kubuntu I chose Kubuntu it wouldn't run. I got aggravated with it and decided to uninstall Kubuntu(version).I used revo uninstaller and it uninstalled fine and i can't find any traces on my computer, however when i restart the computer it continues to say which system to choose Windows xp or Kubuntu. It's not the end of the world, but i'm not happy with it. Any ideas on how to get windows to boot normally?

You have to fix your boot record. Here are a few leads: http://www.howtogeek.com/forum.....?replies=3

Thanks WHS.I'll give it a try. Why do they push products that don't work right and then mess up the computer? I enjoy tinkering, but this is a tad too much.I certainly have a bad taste in my mouth for Linux now!

It actually works "as designed". You just have to understand a lot of little intrinsic things to get thru it. With Ubuntu you have the problem that the Grub takes over and controls the booting. Next time you want to play with Linux, use a virtual partition. Then you only have to delete 2 folders when you want to get rid of it. That's the system with the least interference. A while ago I have written some instruction on how to do that - you find them here. Use Virtual Box - it works best. You can install directly from the .iso. Give Ubuntu 500MBs of RAM and 15GB of disk space. That should do it. And then you can switch between your host and ubuntu with 1 click.
The little tutorial was written with Windows7 in mind - but it works just as well with Linux. I was using it with Ubuntu myself.

I meant that Easy BCD is only for Vista not XP.

AST, Virtual Box works in XP just as well - in case you want to use it.

whs. Have you tried VMware Player. I find it better than Virtual Box.

No, I have not. Last time I looked, it cost $199.

whs. From the VMare site (under FAQs) for VMware player,
"VMware Player is free for personal non-commercial use. VMware Player is only distributable with written permission from VMware. Please apply here to request a distribution agreement."

http://www.vmware.com/products/player/faqs.html

It's well worth a try.

But VMware player is a different cat. That's for applications on mainly servers. I'll stick with my vBox - works really well.

It is similar to vBox. But on my mediocre laptop running Vista Home Premium 32bit, with 2GB RAM, it uses less resources, has more options, and runs faster.
