Hi,
I am using Net Framework 1.1 on Vista Home Prem. I understand most people use Framework 2.0. I would like to upgrade to 3.0. Some people say it might break certain applications. I believe I cannot run two frameworks on the same computer. Maybe there is no need to change? Any advice or opinion is appreciated.

Thanks,
David

.net framework is not used by all applications. Generally, if an application requires a later version, it will tell you and maybe even install it for you. Otherwise, don't worry too much about it.

I'm kind of novice when it comes to computers. Can anyone tell me what a framework is?

While one application can only use one version of the .NET Framework you can have multiple versions installed.
Also .NET Framework 2.0 and .NET Framework 3.0 are installed already on Vista.
