I can't seem to find the system drivers for "Compaq CQ40-517TU" I mean the chipset,audio,video and important drivers. I already look for drivers on HP sites but only HP bundled drivers are available. There is no drivers for system. Need help.

There are drivers there for Vista
I'd take a look at them and you should be able to go to the Manufactures website directly and get drivers for Windows 7

I think compaq is owned by HP. Everytime I put the laptop model: http://www.compaq.com/country/cpq_support.html I then redirected to HP website: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfr.....CQ40-517TU

Yeah agree, been searching all day long. Found several drivers for win7 but the LAN driver doesn't work at all. I also tested installing WinXP still some drivers doesn't function properly like the LAN and Sound although sound is good in Win7 but LAN is not functioning on 7. All I can see that HP hosted drivers are only for Vista for complete drivers. So this is very lame and I am forced to use Vista again as OS and I really don't like Vista. But yeah I don't have a choice
Yeah, I already tried it. By default it doesn't allow it because it says 'This driver is for Vista only' I tried to tweak it, by using the properties and compatibility and run on Vista and as administrator. I then accept the driver and installed it successfully. But the problem still persist. The 'yello w/ exclamation' mark on the network icon is still there and when I scan it. It says 'Does not have valid IP add'. Maybe tomorrow I will post the screenshot.
