Hi all, I would like to purchase a new external HD and have been looking at a few diffrent ones. Both NAS and Multimedia HD´s interest me, so I was wondering if anyone knows of one that actually does both jobs, preferably with WLAN, although not a must.

Madmacs, I had never even heard of a Multimedia External HD. Learn something new every day!

There do not seem to be a lot of these on the market, and all the reviews caution about limited format support. I am always cautious about combination devices -- what happens if one part fails and the other does not? As a result, I like the idea of a Multimedia enclosure better. If the drive fails, you can replace it and if the media player fails, you still have a storage device.

@Scott, and I had never heard of a Multimedia enlosure, lol. Yes i really like the idea of that too!! I guess that putting a M/M and a NAS all-in-one probably would be too much technic , like you said if something failed I would probably end up spending more money than on two seperate drives. Thx for your info.
