my hard drive is filling itself up

im running a toshiba sat-a215 with vista 32 about a week ago i started getting warnings my c:/disk drive was full.i dont use my laptop except to transfer pics from my sds card to a external hard drive-surf the net from time to time and listen to music.ive deleated all my pics vidio,ect.i all so deleated my old backups and shadow copys(?)in just the last hour ive lost over 10GB.im new to this and any help would be much appreciated.........thank ya all........DJ

Check Your Winsxs folder windows inside windows folder, Whats the size?

its 231GB ......now i have 20.1GB left last night it ate over 10 GB in an hr

Run your anti-virus program NOW.

If NO AV; go Here and Download and Install FREE AVG.

Run AVG.

ive ran trend anti virus,webroot spy sweeper,and super antispyware.....nothing found....i also ran them in safe mode and still nothing found.......im down to 12.8 GB left

That's good.

Just wanted to ensure you didn't have some kind of strange virus that was "eating your drive alive".

Will let one of the Vista folks handle this issue because it seems to occur in that O/S more than others.
