Couldn't get sound on my XP so loaded ms 7. Now my pps files won't activate .. I get PPTVIEW.EXE -System Error "program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Reinstalling doesn't get the job done. Is there a solution?

Did you try a repair as first option?
Did you do a complete uninstall before trying your reinstall?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the pps program, and I can't find a "repair" program that fits my problem. do you have another solution?

Run the system file checker from a command prompt, SCF /SCANNOW, it should replace missing files.

Also, what are you actually running? An MS Office version? If so, a SP for one will re-install the file, like this one, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936982 for instance.

I think it is also part of Visual Studio and C++ and it is the runtime for the 2005 version.

Also installing the latest PP Viewer ( http://www.microsoft.com/downl.....laylang=en ) should install the DLL as well.

something worked. I looked up ms office, like LH said, and went to pps. and connected it to the display I wanted, and it worked fine. I tried to find the ms pps that I had downloaded and was giving me trouble, and it's gone. looks a though you have helped me again thanks to all of you
