(Solved) - msvcr71.dll win7 64

there was pop-up of ".....missing msvcr71.dll" why would this happan?

i get this error message after uninstalled/installed a printer device/software

i had fix it but i want to wonder why it happen to avoid next time suffer, as it's a disaster, i can't browser website, download link, just able to read website from cache

PP3TNC, if you got the msvrc71.dll installed you shouldn't have any more problems. If not check here http://i.justrealized.com/2009.....n-windows/

That DLL is part of the MS Visual C package. Used by both the OS and apps.

The Printer s/w is probably at fault here. Uninstall might have removed the file and it wasn't put back during the Install. Of course a BACK LEVEL DLL could have been put back, and that might not have an entry point that another app needs and hence the error message, which could be 'partly' wrong, the DLL exists but not the entry point required in it.

Since it is fixed, as Ronnie says, don't worry about it.

.dlls are usually not removed when a program is uninstalled. They are common subroutines that can be used by various programs and the program uninstaller does not know which programs are using them.

I agree with Irv. The fault is probably with your printer program. Next time that happens, run a SFC /SCANNOW
