i cant get any of the media players to play mp3's. any idea's?

First things first. Make sure your volume isn't muted. Then make sure your speakers are turned on and volume isn't muted or low. Then check to see if your output is using the right sound device.

ive done that, i just can't find a player in ubuntu. or i can't find the codecs to get xmms, aramark, soundbox, etc to play mp3's. i can play cd's though

vlc got it, that figures. how can i get music graphics on vlc from mp3's?

got it, found them in the audio settings. they won't save though....

go to exaile.org and use the guide to put the exaile player in your source list. Installing that will also auto install all the codecs needed for mp3s.
