here in the phils, our mobile phones have sim cards (i think the mobile phones in the US don't use sim cards, correct me if i'm wrong), i was wondering if i could hook up my sim card to my laptop via the SD/MMC port? like is there an adapter that's available where i can use to fit my sim card to my MMC port (and software to go with it)?

pipo. This is so close to illegal hacking, that I don't think we can answer it here :(

but how is this hacking because our phones have sim cards and they hold all of the data on them but i suppose that you could just as well get a cord for your phone and plug it in that way too.

pipo, most of the micro sd cards come with an adapter, if yours did not, you can just pick up a new one (get the same brand) and use the adapter that comes along with it. You can find 4GB micro sd cards for less than $20 and 2GB for under $10.
