Hi. Earlier today i installed 4 2GB RAM and it all went well. But when i checked the information using 3DMark06, it says that it is only 4GB and that each is counting as 1GB. However, when i run dxdiag, it shows that i have 8190MB Ram. Here is the information shown on 3DMark06:

Memory Array 1/1

Max Module Capacity 4 MB
Location System Board

Memory Slot 1/4
Installed Enabled Size 1.00 GB
Form Factor DIMM
Frequency 800.0 MHz
Slot A0 [Bank0/1]
Type Details -
Enabled Size 1.00 GB
Total Bit Width 64 b
Data Bit Width 64 b

Same goes for the other 3 slots.

I'm also trying to upgrade my video card from GeForce 7950 GT to ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, and i was wondering if my system is compatible with the new video card. Here is the Radeon HD 4870 X2 specs:

your video card you want to upgrade to is compatible with your current system.
PCI-Express 2.0, thats the PCI slot.
did you buy the 4870 x2 already? there are better cards out at the moment for much less price.
what OS are you using 32-bit or 64-bit?

EDIT : nevermind i see in your topic it says x64.

for $200, NO. the 5770 is in that price range around $160, and is good, but not as powerful as the 4870 x2, only advantage of the 5770 is the dedicated HDMI ports and the DX11 compatibility. have a look, not as fast as 4870 x2, but still a great card.

Its a Gigabyte 965P-DS3. I think there is something wrong with 3DMark06, because even in CPU-Z it says that i have 8190MB of ram. Its only in 3DMark06 that shows 4GB.

I suspect it too, only program that says 4GB's?

So all is OK now?
