minimizing windows to the sidebar?

I'd like to be able to minimize windows to the sidebar instead of minimizing them to the taskbar. Is there any way to do this?

This would be possible only if somebody writes a gadget for it, which I haven't seen one that does that.

I've not found a sidebar gadget that does this either. Seems like it would be possible, maybe, but probably pretty tough considering the way the gadgets are created in html.
