Found an article in this forum about how to copy the Microsoft solitaire program to a Windows 8 computer. I followed the instructions, but when it came to modifying 7D 04 83 65 FC 00 33 C0 83 7D FC 01 0F 94 C0, I couldn't find it. What did I do wrong?

Thanks,
Mike Morgan

What program did you use to find it. You need a Hex Editor.

Any further suggestions? Did I misunderstand something?

I don't have that program to check it out further, but are you sure you searched correctly? That is the only thing that I can think of.

In the Metro UI go to Store, then swipe the right side of the screen to get the charms, then click the search button, search for microsoft solitaire collection....there is an App for that! It's Free and its from Microsoft.

I too have had this problem with the 'What Happened to Solitaire and Minesweeper in Windows 8?' article.
Did a search for 7D 04 83 65 FC 00 33 C0 83 7D FC 01 0F 94 C0 following the instructions. I used xvi32 and HxD Hex editors, but both returned 'not found'.

I hope it's possible for Chris Hoffman, the writer of the article, to reply.

cheers Agnes
