With One USB Port, appears this machine could be a nightmare to fix the software.

Could a user Clean Install the System if something goes wrong ??

And all of that for $1200. If is goes on the blink, you just buy a new one.

64 GB are less than $750 now? or maybe that is NOT the Pro? Perhaps this will be what salvages Win8 after all. I would not buy these first iterations, but I would not mind test driving one!

A lot of money for something that can't waking up

"Surface Pros oversleeping, refusing to wake up from sleep mode"
http://www.neowin.net/news/sur.....sleep-mode

Mind you according to the comments it seems to only affect people that have fiddled with the power settings, default setting seems to work fine!!

That may be a valid point! I find personally that when using a tablet, if I even set it down for a few minutes i click the button to turn it off, not sure in Surface if that is the same as putting it to sleep!

I wonder who is running the marketing division in MS because the prices are really high compared to other tablets even the iPad is cheaper than this

Unless you really, really have to do serious work away from home, a small, cheap 7" tablet is better. A 10" tablet is too bulky to carry in your pocket but too small for me to do anything serious (like an office application or a video editing). For that I would prefer an Ultrabook.

But my 7" Android tablet for $230 is very handy on the road. I use it for trip planning, navigation, phone calls, occasional checking the mail, news and sometimes entertainment.
