Everyone can check their CPU for hardware virtualization capability using Securable from grc.com. It's free and portable, but not open source. The screen shots there show the possible results for hardware virtualization as "Yes" or "No". My Intel Q6600 comes back with "Locked ON", which is true because it is set that way in the BIOS of my system.

Another source to add to above for those with Intel Processors.
Will give ALL information concerning Intel CPUs.
Intel was re-doing this part of site two weeks ago but is Final Now.
