Hi. This being my first post, I don't really know if I'm doing it right.

I have a Toshiba Satellite R830 laptop which is on a network so I have restricted access to certain things on it - I'm not an admin user on the computer.
First of all, I need to know where the microphone is on it because I do a lot of recordings.
Now, onto the more major issue - on many Windows 7 laptops the tray icons are put away in a little box like this: (EDIT: The pic did not insert - but if you can imagine it, it looks like a little arrow pointing up, with only a few icons to the right)
whereas on my laptop, everything is just in one big long line.

Can anyone tell me how I can can the icons into the box (I currently have not got a box.)?

Thanks,
TQG

The icons in the box on the task bar is a feature of windows 7 only so your compute would have to be running windows 7. If you are then simply go to Right click on the task bar and select properties. On the taskbar tab select Customize... Set up the icons however you like.

As far as the microphone goes, not all laptops have a built in microphone.
