I have been trying to get my microphone working so I can talk to people while playing Left 4 Dead. I have searched on here and found a few solutions, but none worked for me. I have a SB Audigy sound card. I can hear just fine through my headphones, but when trying to configure the mic, it won't pick anything up. The mic is set as the defult, all levels are up and it just won't work. I read that you can fix this by either updating your audio drivers or going back to the original drivers. I downloaded the newest driver on Creative's webpage, but then get an error message that says" Setup cannot continue because no supported hardware could be found." WTH! Everything for my sound card is set as the default and all levels are up. I can't figure this out. Also someone said that it might not work because my microphone plug has two rings on it and it should have one. I can't remember what he called it, monoanolog or something, but could that be it? This is really frustrating because I have read all the other posts about this kind of thing and most people just don't have the mic set as default or something easy like that. HELP!
